Sebbene la musica, in quanto arte dei suoni sia totalmente accessibile ai non vedenti, gli studi musicali, in Italia, in Europa e nel resto del mondo, sono in rapida decadenza. Il metodo Braille ebbe un grande successo fin dall'inizio proprio nel campo degli studi musicali perchè dava possibilità ai ciechi di "leggere e scrivere" la musica, e non solo di suonare o cantare esclusivamente ad orecchio. Tuttavia questo linguaggio, inventato più di un secolo fa,  sembra non godere più interessa da parte delle nuove generazioni. Per garantire allo studente cieco il diritto allo studio è necessario capirne i motivi e individuare nuove strategie e forme per veicolare la musica braille. Perché ciò avvenga occorrono investimenti, ricerca, confronto su buone pratiche. Ma non solo: occorrono anche insegnanti preparati il che richiede non solo risorse economiche, ma anche impegno da parte del Sistema Scolastico. Occorre infine attivare le energie vive fra insegnanti, dirigenti, amministratori, le stesse famiglie, perché la storia dell’umanità è fatta anche di processi reversibili. E se la musica braille era in auge fino a 40 anni fa, perché non può tornare sotto altre forme? Non perché ogni cieco sia anche un bravo musicista, ma per dare a tutti i ciechi la opportunità di studiare musica come i vedenti.

The video illustrates one of our final product, BME2. It contains not only a full explanation of the above mentioned software, but also some important tips and rules in the domain of special didactic for the blind, and tries to encourage blind of all ages to start or to continue studying musicù The video is now available in English and in Itlaian and has been realized by a blind musician, in order to reinforce the message that a blind can really read and write his own music without external helpè.
