Irregular turns
Irregular turns are rhythmic groups exceeding or defaulting with respect to the groups belonging to the same species and can be recognized thanks to the number and a line (or tie) which are positioned above. Example:

Irregular turns can contain rests, value dots and decompose rhythmically. Duinas and quatrains are regular in simple tempos and irregular in composed tempos, whereas three and six notes are regular in composed tempos and irregular in simple tempos.
